Naburn Village
Our village pub, The Blacksmith's Arms, has a lovely beer garden for the warmer months, while York Marina's Waterfront Café has, as its name suggests, wonderful river views and is a super spot to enjoy morning coffee, a leisurely lunch or an evening meal on a Friday or Saturday (booking necessary).
Naburn Lock is a picturesque spot from which to watch the boats and the world go by, and makes a lovely round walk. Or bring your bikes and enjoy some fresh Yorkshire air.
The Old Potting Shed is less than a minute from Route 65 of the National Cycle Network (part of the Trans Pennine Trail) so you can cycle off into the countryside for some peace and quiet or head into York for some amazing shopping, great museums, theatres and art galleries, and an array of restaurants to suit every palate - it's a traffic-free, flat route and takes less than 30 minutes by bike.
If shopping's your thing then York Designer Outlet is just up the road and, in addition to offering great bargains, there's a convenient Park & Ride service into York every 10 minutes.
York
York is renowned for its historic walls and tangle of quaint streets, iconic cathedral York Minster, quirky shops and bars, and a wealth of visitor attractions.
Set out on both sides of the River Ouse and interconnected by ancient bridges, there are hundreds of attractions, museums, historic buildings, shops, restaurants and bars within our compact walled city.
Further Afield
Yorkshire is known to the locals as 'God's own country' and to all as the UK's largest county.
From the wilds of the North York Moors to quaint seaside towns such as Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay, and from the glorious landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales to the vibrant heart of metropolitan Leeds, there's a lot of Yorkshire to explore.
It's just a 40 minute drive from The Old Potting Shed to central Leeds, an hour to the coast or the North York Moors, and only a little further to the Dales. If you'd prefer that someone else did the driving, local buses run from Naburn to York, from where you can connect to regional bus and rail networks. Click here for a timetable.
